I completely approve of naming names.
I completely approve of naming names.
Haha, knew it.
Normally when faced with these kinds of things, I just move on to another store, but I was feeling a bit spicy that day and wanted to pin this guy down with the actual regulations. Also, I got a blog out of it.
Lol bingo
Was it Grubbs Infiniti?
I was house-shopping a couple years back and found a new-build neighborhood advertising a model that met my needs “Starting at $XXX,000”.
From Car and Driver, Looks like CPO has to include a warranty. So if the car is truly Certified Pre-owned by the manufacturer and is advertised as such, the warranty is included in the price of the car and should not be offered separately. Extended warranty is different.
You were clear. This guy’s response is.... inexplicable.
And that is perfectly fine..I have had dealers offer used cars for sale then add the CPO at an additonal cost, but the advertisement never mentioned the CPO.
Maybe I wasn’t clear, any CPO car comes with a factory warranty extension. This dealer was advertising a car as CPO but then trying to sell the factory warranty extension that the car should already come with.
Do you really not understand, or are you just trolling?
“I am advertising <thing A> as a thing that includes <thing b> in the advertised price.”
“Great, I will take <thing A> for the advertised price”
“Fantastic. IF you want <thing b>, that is an additional $350"
“Er, no. You SAID you were selling <thing A> that includes…
Then again, a big part of Tom’s whole business model is that his service essentially helps people by taking on all the BS for them (there’s an advice component to it as well). If there were no BS/chicanery/fuckery going on in car sales, Tom would find himself without a business, or at least having to shift his service…
The fact that he didn’t understand that he proved your point in his own retort scenario is just remarkable....
“Not a V8" is the weirdest take. It’s on a shared platform with the Bronco. Did anyone anywhere ever think it might be getting a V8?
NO!
Tom,
The manager tried to retort by saying, “Well, when I go to Chipotle and order a burrito, they charge me extra for the guacamole.”
... And no personal floatation device?
we sent him off with a warning and instructions to get a helmet
“calls that someone was driving around on a jet ski”
