The current C8s are baaaaaaarely lighter than a Camaro SS, so much so that you have to compare spec-for-spec to see it. A V8 Camaro isn’t much over 3700 lbs, and the C8s aren’t much under 3700.

This is a refreshing approach and delightfully candid insight to the intentions of the car.
Look here SON!
I miss the dollar menu. Now Double Cheeseburgers and McChickens are over $2. It’s definitely a mental thing. It just all seemed to happen so fast and wages have not kept up with inflation.
It’s taken me awhile to adjust to this, but you’re right. I’m still wondering where $4.99 BigMac meal deals went!
I wouldn’t assume they are better than before.
what I was trying to get at is, unlike a lot of hybrids where the motor sits between the gas engine and the transmission, the E-Ray’s motor never spins up the gasoline engine, nor does it add torque to the rear wheels in any way.
As opposed to other C8s that are for...rich buyers who don’t do track days?
Refreshingly frank conversation here.
Yeah but I don’t think trucks were $75k in 2010, and according to KBB they wern’t. Folly loaded F150 was around $45k
It would not be out of the realm of possibility that a recently single 44 year old would have a Corvette as one of their dating profile pictures.
Just decide what you can manage for a monthly payment, and I’ll talk to the finance people and figure something out, okay?
Supercars are stupid. But I’m glad they exist. And I’m especially glad there’s one that you can theoretically buy for around $100k.
I’m not saying this as a marketing professional, and I don’t know everything that goes into making the marketing materials, and so I’m not 100% sure how they made this image. But, based on my work at a major automaker about 10 years ago, I think a LOT of press pictures that get flack for looking unrealistic are not…
So the ERay “ways” 300lbs more than the Z06. This is pretty amazing considering you also get AWD. I cannot “weight” for the ERay. Hopefully there is a “weigh” GM will stop the price gouging by dealers. That ”weigh” I will actually be interested in buying one. Sure will be a heavy “wait” off my shoulders to finally be…
A lot more people have $100k to spend than $200k to spend. I know that sounds ridiculous, but we live in a world where there are 6-figure Jeeps and pickups are routinely 80k+. The Corvette was never a truly cheap car, but for what you’re getting, 100k is relatively affordable and is in a comparable market with other…
Actually it’s a lot cooler because you can get one in a manual
I’m surprised it is priced so close to the Z06. Still much cheaper than the nearly $170k NSX (RIP), but I feel like they could (should?) have left the carbon ceramic brakes off and gotten it to start in under the $100k mark.
By the sheer number of decked out lifted bro-dozers running around, apparently $100K is for the masses. 🤷♂️
Exterior is almost there thanks to the finally body colored inlets. Not so sure about the painted rear exits, but better. Mebbe go back to LED donut shaped brake lights? Stripe has a Briggs Cunningham vibe.
