It's kind of misogynist, sure, but more than that, it's just....really lame. It was boring. I had to go and watch the Guild's new music video "Game On" a couple times to get the bad taste out of my mouth. THAT'S how you do gamer pride, gurl or not.

Those are some seriously cool ideas from the judge. I'm more of a videogame fan, and I would play any of those games in a heartbeat.
The reason why Valve is awesome: the very first I heard about this problem is just now, when Valve is offering a sincere and elaborate apology. Valve has so much to teach the rest of the industry.
I could have sworn this game was supposed to be coming to the DS...
The worst part of the game for me is when guys would come up and say fairly innocuous things, like "May I help you, miss?" I know it's probably a come on, but still, does the guy deserve to die for it? Maybe my character is carrying a bunch of heavy bags of ammo.
@Ketto: Oh, I see. I guess having analog sticks on the right side makes sense for an FPS. Seems like hardly any handheld games use the shoulder buttons instead of the face buttons, though, which is vital if you're going to have the analog stick on the right side.
@Ketto: ...because that's where analog sticks go on pretty much every controller ever made.
Umm...This guy might claim that women are equal in politics and "under the law", but the law he's talking about is just a request to employers to please consider treating women as equals in the workplace. Want to hazard a guess at how many actually comply?
This is so awesome, words cannot express.
That is sad. I really enjoyed this game and think it was totally beautiful.
@ReiAyanami4Ever: Besides calling the guy a superfan, they didn't make any value judgements. They just said, "Here's the name of the anime, and here's the opening intro."
@interkin3tic: I hope there are creationists protesting outside GDC. I would totally ask to take a picture with them.
@Squamden: Dude! The Sam that's always hanging around the ZML? I'm the girl Sam! How funny.
@Squamden: So am I! I'm a grad student there. In fact, if you go to the USA Today article about this, they used my picture!
Why is it that anime characters always look so scared and unhappy when they're stripping? That says more about Japanese otaku culture than how old the girl is.
@thaellin: Well-written and argued. And true. Hearted.
Really? Ten thousand people for the care of one statue? That seems a little ridiculous.
"How can we be more transparent and let people see it in actual dollars?"
@Slagathorian: That's quite true, but in practice it seems like the effect is the exact opposite. If the Kotaku editors are pointing out the comedy club phenomenon, it swings the sentiment around the other way.
" It is a sequel that atones for the design sins of its hot-selling predecessor, which maybe obligates it for some praise but also some karmic punishment on behalf of the gamers who felt the first game let them down."
