This looked intriguing to me, but then when I saw you had to give them your email address to install it, I hesitated. After seeing the update about Google Task sync not being free, I'm glad I held off. That was the main selling point for me.

I think I've tried them all, and I keep going back to AllMyNotes. It's not free, but it's very much worth it. One of the few programs I've been willing to pay for. Since it wasn't free, I tried to go back to other apps after my trial ran out but ended up back with AllMyNotes. Frequent updates as well.

After trying it out briefly, I like this one (XYplorer). Only problem is though, even when I set it to be my default explorer in the settings, it doesn't seem to work most of the time. For example, in Windows 7 x64, when I got to 'My Computer', the standard explorer comes up. Or even when I just click the Library

They do, it's called a DVR.

Supposedly the files they stream are in Ogg format so it's surprising you can't play Ogg locally.

You may be right Whitson. I guess all we need is a Spotify/Pandora (or Slacker) plug-in for Media Monkey.

That's the problem though. I want something that is a one-stop shop. I thought Spotify might be it, but it seems to fall short. I want something to allow me to play "radio station" a'la Slacker or Pandora, stream over internet a'la Grooveshark, and stream locally a'la Media Monkey (FLAC support a must). Spotify

Obviously our heads are in the same place. The only reason I even came to this post was because I thought it was about beer.

While I agree it shouldn't be necessary to reinstall Windows regularly, I still like to do a fresh install every 12-18 months or so from an image that I create right after doing the first install and installing all of my core programs. Something about a fresh, clean & shiny OS install makes me all warm and fuzzy

No, because it's under the "Maintenance you don't need to do" section.

Our FoodSaver is one of the best investments we've ever made.

Nice idea. I just can't remember the last time I bought an actual cardboard milk carton...they're always plastic where I shop.

The only thing missing there is the hip waders and fly rod.

Thanks for the info aka_bigred. I'll have to give it a try.

Looks a lot like Process Explorer. Is there any reason to switch from that to Process Hacker?

Pretty much a no-brainer of a concept. Only problem now is, what do you invest the surplus in? Certainly not the stock market in U.S. Dollars. Precious metals? Foreign stocks? Foreign currency?

I really dislike Flickr. The others are decent, with SmugMug probably the best of the 4, but Phanfare is still the best. Ironically I just heard Carbonite bought out Phanfare so who knows what that means.

I actually like the simplicity of this. One big problem though - it automatically adds ALL of my removable storage devices, regardless of whether they're active. Meaning, I have a 7 in 1 card reader and it shows all 7 devices even if no devices are connected. There should be a way to remove those (if there is, I

Where is the option for "Other"? I've tried them all and Phanfare easily beats all five of these.

Pretty neat concept I guess. Don't really see the need for it for myself as I rarely use Google Docs and am fine with the old sort by 'Date Modified' in file explorer.
