I don't get why people say that the pirate setting is overplayed. Outside of Sid Meier's Pirates! and Monkey Island, how many pirate themed games are there?

Hell, they could even call it "Pirate's Creed" and call it a "spin off' to sell the brand, but I agree, this is an awesome concept bogged down by tying it to a dying franchise.
