I think the difference in detail in the dog photo is more DoF related than any sort of camera processing. There is no processing in RAW (that’s the whole point) so I don’t think that’s a valid comparison. All it shows is that you have two different photos. I’d use a test chart like the one below if you want any chance…

This is why I now use ON1 Raw for my photo editing needs.  You can actually BUY it, and it works great.  They are directly going after Adobe and their damn stupid subscription model.  I stopped buying their stuff when they made that change.
