I had the same issue with my Eagle sedan. Swapped in the mechanical shifter and linkage (with modifications) from an XJ. While we were at it, we put in the 5sp from the XJ in to replace the 4 sp that had bad syncros. Beast was unstoppable. Unfortunately iron oxide was more unstoppable :(
