Also in Maine, but no where near the coast. They still rotted out from the salt on the road (they were rusted before they left the factory - fact not fiction. IH used some pretty low-grade steel for these). There’s a very nice Scout II that goes by my house in the summer, I suspect it is from Lovell, there’s a guy

Took me a minute on the pun, nice :D

There’s a “suburban Maine?” You must be on the coast or L-A area. I’m in “rural” Maine, aka most of the state. It’s actually closer to drive to NH to get groceries (not that there’s much greater options when you get there) than it is to shop at the closest Maine place. This is a big country, there are many people who

Is this that big of an issue? 5 miles away is right around the corner for some of us. It’s 40 miles and about 50 minutes one way in my rural area (increase that time by 20 minutes or so if it is between Nov-March or if you have to wait for a moose to clear the road... no, you don’t want to rush Bullwinkle, trust me)

Beat me to it. Came here to say the same thing as I also live in rural Maine, I’d say one of the poorest counties but hell, they all are poor outside of the coastal ones. If Stephen King sold his house in Lovell, pretty sure it would drop even lower. Still flummoxed how many people around here still beat the Trump

I worked at a Pontiac dealer when these came out. We didn’t even get them to sell on the lot, only as loaners. It would take the recon guys two days do get all the cosmoline off the crapcans. They didn’t look any better when they were done, no fault of their own, these were seriously ugly, shitty, embarrassing cars.

I can’t seem to find a good pic but this lady used to be sponsored by Pure Silk, not a tampon but in the same region :).

I hope not all of us, I’m one and a Jalop. What people fail to recognize is the IT people who will be pulling access aren’t doing it because they are some sort of offended snowflake. Nope. They will pull it because they have to answer to HR. HR is the ones that will freak out about someone getting offended and require

Yup, truth.

We were out in the woods with the Giant Pickle (lifted VW Bus), a friend in his Sammy, and a baja bug. The weather was crap the week before so the trails were wonderfully muddy and HUGE puddles. After pulling the Sammy out of one and the baja out of another, the rear torsion bar mount on the pickle broke (ok, the rust

Sorry, I’ll show myself out now...

That’s optimal conditions with no accessories on, ideal ambient temperature, winds (don’t I wish...), flat terrain, and a steady 45 mph. All of the current Teslas can drop to less than 50% of their quoted range depending on all of the above factors.

“If you live in a place where the charging network doesn’t exist, or do a lot of hauling, or have a small army of children and need >5 seats, etc, this is probably not for you.”

Thank you, so many people who comment seem to believe that the infrastructure and needs for them apply to everyone in the country.
It doesn’t.
I

Depending on your company, could be between 60-80%. I had a significant crash back in 2003, 1700 miles on the clock when a guy crossed in front of us, trying to turn into an apartment complex. He was paying more attention to the kids playing in the parking lot and didn’t see us coming. In his defense, it was early

If you are under 40, these are a sleeper. If you remember them when they were newer, they are not. Most of us back in the 90s and early 2ks remember these as a bit quicker than expected, especially from a roll at highway speeds.

“New Hampshire is the only state which lets you drive without insurance without any extra financial responsibilities.”

Doesn’t look like a Mustang...

That sweeping statement “Everyone who owns a car for use on public roads in the US is legally required to have at least liability insurance at some level. “ is incorrect. Auto insurance is not a requirement to register or operate a vehicle in New Hampshire.

Not everywhere. The Live Free or Die state of NH doesn’t mandate auto insurance unless you have had a major infraction like DUI or an uninsured accident and failed to make restitution. Otherwise, you can drive all you want without insurance.
