I have two, both from my teen days.

I found the above Beetle in someone’s yard in NH and put together the history of it. It’s now in Germany being restored for a museum. I wish I had been able to hold onto it and restore it myself :(.

These get a lot of shit. I had two of them (‘97 and ‘01). My experience must be a random blip as both of mine were decent little cars. the 97 ended up going over 200k before anything other than routine maintenance. The ‘01 was not as fun as the original - kinda like a standard Beetle vs Super - but it performed well…

I would agree 100% and then take that another level. OEMs also need to engineer ergonomics, ‘friendly safety,’ emissions, economy, and reliability. It’s one thing to crank a motor up to 600+ HP for a few hours or even a couple of events, I would think the level of engineering to make even 75% of those numbers able to…

Last thing I want to do is get stuck in the middle of Crawford Notch in a snow storm and watch that power gauge bottom out.

Infrastructure is critical. While they are making strides in metro areas, they will need to invest in rural areas as well.
