So did we. And when we needed someone at the last minute to place the silverware at each setting - a lovely horde of children were delighted to run around and set the tables.

Not anymore. The comments i read are overwhelmingly in support of the fired gentleman. Many calls to boycott Walmart this week.

The Haunting - b/w version - 1960’s - awesome version of Shirley Jackson’s novel. (Never, NEVER see the “remake” with Liam Nielson and Luke Wilson - NEVER!)

Or trying to explain to my Iraqi, Thai or African students why my African-American students use this term but get upset if they do, even as a positive signifier.

That’s why we start after Labor Day in Michigan - the weather and the water is warmer in August than in June.

Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure; Buckaroo Bonzai

“The Girl on the Train” ; Louise Penny’s Inspector Gsmachr Mysteries;

I’m surprised to see that Jezebel and Gawker are accepting money to promote the Michigan Center’s Koch Brother funded union-busting agenda.

You do not have to always be sad; hang in there! You have the ability and power within yourself to find a solution where you can be happy - maybe not right away - but in the long run.

If you haven’t seen it already, try “Veronica Mars’ on Amazon prime; Or “Warehouse 13” “Broadchurch” on either. And in September, “Person of Interest” starts on Netflix; I love “Dr Who” but I think that “Person of Interest’ is probably the best sci-fi on tv these days.

While she may not have been precise in using the term “extinct”, she is accurate in that the elimination of fetus’ with DS has lowered the number of people with DS within our society. And if this trend continues, people with DS could be eliminated or “made extinct” in laymen’s terms.

There is a way; a simple blood test will determine if a fetus has Down’s. It is routinely offered as part of prenatal health care.

This is part of her concern.

Yep. It’s actually a common worldview among communities of the disabled - the deaf, the blind, those with autism or DS - who believe that their right to exist - to be loved and to love, to be respected and cherished - is as great as those without disabilities.

DS may occur randomly but rarely without warning especially for women who have access to health care.

Cull - to separate and cast aside as inferior.

“Some” - at best, you can speak for “some” with ASD who empathize better than neurotypicals. On average, based on my experiences, this is not true.

This is a very common point-of-view within communities of people with many disabilities including the deaf, those with autism and Down’s syndrome.

Thank you for posting this; I wonder why the police won’t let the “victim” drop the charges? Sounds like the initial issues were solved but the police instigated issues with the General while his caregiver was paying for the food.
