I’ll second this. My old Jeep XJ went through a hailstorm that toasted the roof of my house without leaving a single dent on the Jeep. The hood alone on that thing must weigh about 40-50 lbs where a modern one of aluminum or light steel would seem half that weight.

This is nothing new to Porsche owners. Even on a relatively simple ‘87 Carrera the first step to everything? Drop engine. Clutch job? Drop engine. Bad oil leak?  Drop engine. Oil pressure sensor failed......?  Partially drop engine. You get the picture...

Agreed. H6 and boxers are intrinsically different and sound very different. Air cooled Porsche’s have that raspy angry mechanical bulldog sound to them...Subies have a nice bubbly low end. Both pretty, but different.

I live in Minneapolis and drive a Jeep XJ with lift and lockers. I always laugh a little when Captain Suburbia comes flying past me in the inside lane in his Honda Pilot with the all seasons. Agreed. I’m impressed. Regardless of anyone’s opinions on life choices, he doesn’t want hand outs, is owning his lifestyle, working hard and is grateful. Not much more you can be as a man. Well done Matt.
