Narrowly missed one of these today on the way into work. Side note: the roads are SHIT in Minnesota this summer. A friend just had three rims crack and four tires blow on their car after hitting potholes on an entrance ramp left there by a construction crew.

A good friend and I had put on our suits and coats and gone out for steak dinner after particularly rough finals our junior year in undergrad. It was the early 2000s and he was driving an 1993 ford escort wagon in the sun-faded light blue popular at the time. On our return, we parked outside a nearby dorm and said hi

Too soon and poor form man.

I get this and it’s a helpful framing technique, but it kinda feels like “congrats, you’re gonna be mediocre!” I think putting it in perspective with a frame of reference on what success is would be helpful. To say you won’t be an entrepreneur with a multi-billion startup by turning down the work burner will be

I wouldn’t say driving a V12 automatic e-type would be my hero. You’ve got to dream bigger my friend. 4 speed, unsynchro’d straight 6 is what you should go for, then you won't be disappointed.

Why did you turn!?!?

How many intelligence organizations do we think have been reading this guy’s emails lately.... jeez!

No, I think you’re right. I was going for Pontiac Grand prix for a while but it doesn’t have the lower lights/reflectors:

The taillights just look so googly-eyed on that... Fierrari F355... wow.

A friend of mine owns an unrestored ‘63 E-Type. It’s pretty fragile and remarkably beautiful. I do much of the maintenance work on it. At almost every show it goes to, some genius decides to let himself into the car without asking and have his bros take photos of him pretending to drive it. Most mouth off when you

The wheel well gaps! Why can't American manufacturers fix that! (Wait, it's because our roads are so crappy we need the suspension clearance)

I’ve been blessed to find great deals on a few nice cars and like to keep them nice. Corner and angled spots are your friends. Also parking at an angle in larger spots while keeping it between the lines can prevent door dings. That and find a good paint guy and a good pointless dent guy and make friends :)

Minnesotan here...I’ve heard (nothing confirmed) that something this high usually results in car seizure, a very big fine and either public service or house arrest. Usually no hard jail time though if you have a decent attorney.

Point taken. In that case I'm 100% for calling the cops.

Gotta say, I love how everyone’s first reaction is “call the police.” How about you ask whoever is making the noise to keep it down and if they aren’t the owners, follow up with the owners and let them know it’s not cool. If it doesn’t get fixed, then call the HOA, police, etc. There are civil ways to handle things

My best friend somehow managed to fit a car seat and then a booster seat in the back of his 996. Totally became my hero when he pulled that off.

Came for Ferrari comment, left satisfied.

I look boldly into the future with great hope...for that day when the keys from a 250GTO fall from the sky into my hands. Don't give up that leg just yet.

Left leg?! Y U NO DRIVE STICK?!?

Still have to wait for the fuel pump to stop making noise on the old jags I drive occasionally before starting. It’s kind of a cool aesthetic feature. As is the choke. Except when you’re trying to start it in the cold and then you flood it, and then the battery wears down and then your stuck doing nothing in
