As both a history nerd and a comic book nerd, I approve so very much.

Between Florence Welsh and Florence Nightingale, it seems to be impossible to assign a negative connotation to it.

I think it's the history major in me, but I love old fashioned sounding names. I like Arlington for that and it's still pretty original without being "wacky". And I like "Arlo" as a nickname for it because of Matthew Weiner's adorably dapper son.

If I have a daughter, her name will be Arlington Florence (first and middle name) and if I have a son, his name will either be Matthias James or Sinclair Astaire.

These two are very sheltered twins who grew up in a fundamentalist Baptist church and highly doubt they know any gay people, much less are friends with them. The girl was married at 19 and now (at 20) has a baby. the boy is currently in school to become a preacher. That should give you an idea of why they'd use scare…

I would have laughed if it wasn't so awful. People like him are why that awful amendment passed.

I didn't let the argument go far. I'm in school to be a history teacher and he's in school to be a preacher. It would have gotten ridiculous. I highly doubt anything I say would change his very small mind.

I dunno, I'm in a pretty redneck area right outside of Charlotte, and I'm sure the nuanced differences between the two are lost on the redneck relatives that I grew up with, who think there's something wrong with me for reading so much. Good to know there's a difference, though. You learn something new every day. XD
