Teens like her give me hope for the future.

Someone's grumpy.

I'm teaching my four for Teaching Fellows and then going abroad (to either England or Japan) or moving to Boston.

Woo! NC educators for equality! ( I'm an NC Teaching Fellow and student teacher.)

I'm from NC and we don't have very many Asians. Most of the Asian students at my school are studying abroad here from other countries, or at least it feels that way. I took Japanese at my school on a whim and ended up becoming friends with several of the Japanese students, as well as a few Korean and Chinese students.

I'm friends with a lot of international students and a few of the girls are thinking of creating an Asian sorority (apparently a national one already exists). That's not particularly wacky, but they want me to join if they go through with it and I'm not Asian. Go figure. XD

I'll be there too! I'll be the blonde girl with a black flower in her hair and a purple "STR8 AGAINST H8" t-shirt.

*pssh* I don't give a flying fuck about football. And my school's prettier than yours. :D

I'll be at the one we're having at my University.

I'll stick to Arbor Mist and Wild Vines.

I go to Elon University and I love that my school kept Teaching Fellows as a school program after the state defunded it. We have a variety of fellows programs at my school and now Teaching Fellows is considered just another one of them- the scholarship money will be significantly less, but all of the enrichment

I just saw this on tumblr and I felt like sharing:

I think when I'm done with my four year Teaching Fellows commitment, I'm either going abroad or moving to Boston. Fuck this shit.

I generally try to go with "the GLBTQ community" whenever I'm referring to them in general.

Hearted. I'm saving that to put up in my future history classroom.

The professor whose class I'm skipping tomorrow to go to a rally against this is always talking about how terrible SC is. The class is about British North American slavery, so he rants about SC all the time. Maybe he won't mind that I'm skipping class if I tell him I'm trying to save NC from SC's fate?

"Homosexual" is a very clinical term- my gay friends don't like being referred to as such because it makes it sound like something's wrong with them. Like it's a medical condition.

I'm a native NC girl, and I often feel way out of place because I have such radically different views from many other North Carolinians. Which is weird, because my family is made of Republican Southern Baptists, and yet somehow they produced me, the Libertarian non-denominational Christian. My entire family thinks I'm

And Teaching Fellows has been defunded. As a current NCTF (I'm a senior this year), I am very pissed and hate that I'm tethered for four years to a state that clearly does not value me.

Classic redirection of focus. Making a the public focus on something that shouldn't be an issue so they won't notice the government fucking up everything else. Grr.
