I don't know about you, but my clothes don't squash my curves into painful looking formations. But to each his own, I suppose.

Yeah, I don't see why including the guy's face was necessary.
Oh god, quit making me relive high school AND empathize with a Bachelor contestant. Too much self-loathing for one afternoon.
Yeah, a lot of departments post their mugshots on their official website. There are also "tabloid" type papers in some towns that only publish mugshots. I'm sure there are legit reasons for this, but in my experience, both services are excellent for humiliating relatives you don't like at Thanksgiving.

You just described every dude at my high school.
I wasn't disagreeing that it's an issue, I was just offering reasons why it's not treated like the n-word.
THIS! So much this.
I think it's because a lot of Asian stereotypes are "positive" (smart, good at math, hot if you're a girl, etc...) and Asian Americans have been relatively successful in the US, compared to the other groups you named. The harm isn't as obvious.
I think the idea behind MacFarlane's comedy that the white dudes in the room will "get it" while everyone else can generously interpret it as "making fun of the ignorant white dude." It's the same with hipster racism IRL— the guy making the joke will tell you he's totally not racist, he was just making fun of racists,…
Oh, I'm sure it was lovely, and I'm sure a lot of guests really enjoyed it (I probably would have). I just feel bad for the people who aren't big on performance art and wearing clothes they didn't pick. The people who wouldn't have attended if it had been a costume party, but had to attend because it was a…
If this was a costume party, I think I'd be less grossed out. But it's a wedding, so your friends and family are basically required to attend. I think it's kind of demanding to be like "we want you to help celebrate our love (but only if you send your measurements 2 weeks in advance!)."
In short? Yes. "Since the mid 20th century" isn't long in historical terms. Archaeologists and antiquarians looted the hell out of some ancient sites for many, many years without consequences, and the collections that house those stolen artifacts are never going to give them up voluntarily. Most just frame it as "such…
This is some of the most ignorant shit I've read in a LONG time. Congrats.
He doesn't feel weird enough to stop coming all over the shared hand towels, soooo why would you relying on the kid's sense of shame to correct the behavior? What kind of parenting tactic are you using, the "it would be awkward so let's just avoid it" approach? I think you're the one lacking perspective here. I sure…
Oh, they're scared all right. And I, for one, fucking love it. I want to distill their fear to a sweet, sweet nectar and sell it as lube at gay orgies. I want to abort their hopes and dreams.
Oh my sweet Jesus, thank you for confirming that NPH is a precious, gay Keebler elf.
You know, that's a really good point that I'd never considered. Then again, I think a lot of pro-lifers don't give a shit if women die. They think we're all sluts who deserved it for trying to commit murder. But still, point to the pro-choicers for not stooping to that level.
I think if you'd handed my 6-year-old self a baby-looking doll and told me that people liked to kill babies, I would have cried, too, no conditioning required (but then my pro-choice parents would have explained the difference). Kids are emotional and irrational, much like pro-lifers.
But there are lots of men who suck at haggling, too. Women are socialized to be less aggressive and less demanding, but there are loads of women who can get a good price on a car. It comes down to the person's personality and level of car expertise, not gender.
