First off, you're the one getting a hissy-hit and you seem to have taken more offense to my criticism of Bobby than I do of anything you said. Calling people "assclown commentors" and trashing on a "silly gaming blogs' you obviously still come to.

Keep in mind, the "ass clown commentor" can be applied to you as well. We may be other people in real life, but here we are just commentors on Kotaku. Both of us.

Jesus fucking Christ, you honestly must work for Activision. Having fair criticism of shaddy anti-consumer business practice is more than legitimate.

Wow, never met a Kotick fanboy before. And 'no' I don't play MW or Guitar Hero.

I'm guessing this is going to be fairly standard practice with a lot of publishers in the near future, not just Resistance, not just the PS3. Bobby Kotnik must be arching his evil fingers, whispering "excellent", with the prospect of implementing this in MW3.

The biggest problem with the PSP was in fact that games that are popular in the West, FPS and shooters, aren't functional without the second analog stick. Even Monster Hunter, Japan's biggest PSP game, suffers without it.

Yeah, no it hasn't been overplayed. Its not even a rumor.

Blu-ray licencing is fairly complicated, but Blu-ray movie playback is separate from the actual hardware licencing and patents.

Since the Wii U stores 25GBs, they are probably just using an off-the-shelf blue-violet laser from a Blu-ray player. Meaning that its a 405nm laser, it should easily be compatible with any Blu-ray.

Obviously, its not an issue if technically the Wii U can or can't read DVDs or Blu-rays. Nintendo are doing this so that they don't need to pay for DVD or Blu-ray licencing fees. Blu-ray licencing fees are around $9.50 per device.

The Wii U likely uses a 2.4 Ghz or 5Ghz bandwidth to transmit the data, much like all the wireless video transmitters on the market. Considering that the Wii U doesn't transmit over WiFi means that the console communicates with the controller directly and thus reduces lag significantly.

The problem with PS3 remote play has been the lack of a second analog on the PSP and the lag that was introduced by sending it over WiFi. The Wii U obviously doesn't transmit data over the network for the controller to work, rather it sends it locally, probably via a 2.4Ghz signal (much like the wireless TVs that are

European prices include a 20% VAT in them, as required by law. So out of the €250 price, €50 goes to the respective governments of purchase in Europe, Sony only gets €200 of that money. Japan also have sales tax included in the price, however sales tax in Japan is incredibly low compared to the EU (its 5%).

You really don't need to have a download code, you can merely have the Vita version on the Blu-ray disk. Similar to the way that some Blu-ray movie disks have digital H.264 movies in them thats meant to be played on PSP/iPhone. This would save the user from having to download several gigs from PSN, and it would save

Clearly, we are coming from different perspectives. But in science, when you are trying to inform others of your product or research, people only care about results. Nobody cares if you didn't have enough time, if your grant was pulled, you had limited resources, couldn't afford the staff or the equipment, etc.- the

What I see is a wall of excuses. Its a reaffirmation that developers are a whiny lot.

You know, here's the thing, the consumers really doesn't care. They pay for a game, they care if the game is enjoyable or not, they really don't care about the dev team's excuses.

First, the Scott Pilgrim movie was pretty cringe worthy IMO. I'm a fan of the comics and Edgar Wright, it just didn't translate from comic to movie very well. It came across a bit cheesy. But that's neither here nor there.

Having a movie tie-in is no excuse for charging $60 for a bad 4 hour game. 60 buck is 60 bucks. Money is money, and people work for that money. Movie or no movie, game or no game. Look at Scott Pilgrim, awesome game, 10 bucks, lots of re-playability. And a serious mediocre movie. In fact, a movie tie-in is no

Bionic Commando was not good. It was mediocre at best, it had a laughable story, the linear level designs didn't match with the swinging mechanics, and most of the gameplay was just cumbersome. After playing Bullet Storm I realized how fun kicking/grappling mechanics should have been. Not to mention unplaybale MP
