I read through the whole thing expecting something scandalous, you know, stuff "Toyota Didn't Want You To See".

@Curves: Did you read his previous post?

@Wrathernaut: JIT is designed to minimize capacity to only what is required "just in time" to be used in the next manufacturing step.

According to the previous TTAC article, the entire pedal assembly costs Toyota just $15, so I'm assuming that this fix is actually more expensive considering the labor involved in installing them at the dealer level which involves disassembly of the accelerator and installing this steel bar (stated as 30 minutes),

How magazines are sold in Japan are very different then in the US. So direct number comparisons are very difficult, especially when you compare weekly and monthly publications.

So it looks to be using a detuned 3.4L V8 from their American LeMans LMP2 race car, which in turn is a variant of the 3.5L IRL engine that was co-developed with Ilmor; not to mention their Formula Nippon cars.

@CobraGuy: Just to clear things up regarding Gazoo.

The 2nd-gen SW20/SW21s MR2s weighed around 2,800lbs, and the turbo variants are one of the most iconic and beloved MR2s around.

Personally, I'll wait till actual driving impressions start to appear before I rush to judgement.

I see it as well.

When I think of "motion control" for a portable device this is what I imagine:

@AkkiRonin: If you look at the actual device you can see that it isn't expensive, it looks dirt-cheap in fact, and a 2 million dollar R&D budget is hardly very much.

@bobtheduck in Korea: Blu-rays are huge in Japan because most Japanese rely on Tivo-like features to record their favorite shows (Japanese shows are rarely if ever re-aired so if you miss it you miss it). But most seem to be recording in HD rather then SD.

@JoRo1986: HDTVs have always been popular in Japan, they were certainly not slow to adopt it. In fact, in terms of market penetration they have always been ahead of the US. Of the 50 million total TV households in Japan, almost 17 million have HDTV.

@sixt9coug: That's the point now isn't it, everyone is registering their opinion, but they manage to do it without whining about how their opinion was criticized on another blog.
