The deepwater horizon was a totally different situation. It was a well head leak not a pipeline leak. The leak was hard to stop because they didn’t have equipment down there that they could just shut off if things mess up. Yes there was human error that caused the problem to be much harder to stop in a timely manner

This is where we have a fundamental disagreement I think: the EPA has mostly come up with regulations based on real world issues but they are not even-handed penalties. And some of those regulations are based 100% on petitions and not actual environmental research. They penalize the companies that do the right thing

Clearly you don’t understand how a pipeline works and that is fine. You’re entitled to your ignorance. Have a good day.

You would do that if you intend on it being an AWD drag car. I think it would be both hilarious and super fucking fast. Can you imagine how quickly it would get down the track compared to comparably powered RWD cars?

I’m aware it’s a big problem. But what I’m saying is that pipelines constructed 50 years ago the ones causing problem. It’s not the fact that pipelines exist; it’s the fact that they’re super old and are not subject to regular inspection. Something like half of the crude pipelines in the US are over 50 years old. What

You like column shift automatic transmissions and front wheel performance cars. Sad.

The what I’m talking about is the day-to-day form filing and permit applications. Not fines for pollution. At some point the small companies will not be able to pay these fees and keep operations profitable. Then all you’re left with are the big corporations that are actually the ones who keep doing the polluting. In

I don’t think you understand how the EPA affects the little guy. You know, the small companies that do right by the environment and the community they’re in. I’m not talking about the big ass corporations. I’m talking about the small businesses that make up close to 50% of the nonfarm GDP in this country. The EPA has

This makes no sense. If corporations are money grubbing whores (many of them are) then why would they let a busted pipeline sit there leaking oil into the drinking water instead of doing its job?

They spend a lot of time extracting money from businesses. I suppose that’s a pretty important function for a government that is trillions of dollars in debt.

I think if you read through this comment thread as well as ask the average person what the main objection is they will give you a different answer. It would be great if everyone was informed but I think it’s pretty clear that they are not...

That is not factually correct. Especially not when comparing current rail cars to recently constructed pipelines. Pipelines now have fancy computers and sensors that shut the whole thing down when the pipeline has a pressure drop that indicates an issue. Any comparison you think you’re making is probably to pipelines

It’s funny if you look at his pro stats you’d say that he was just an okay receiver. But he was consistent every year he was in the league minus the injuries toward the end. 40-50 catches, 500 yards and 3-5 TDs a season for 7 seasons is valuable stuff. Especially when you consider he was never going to be considered

How is basic maintenance on these things? Are you burning up tires left and right? Are you constantly fixing tiny issues? How about major repairs- have you had to deal with any in your ownership?

Ya I’m well acquainted with the genius of the hole-in-the-wall sandwich/pizza shops around Jersey. I agree that’s where the real action is. I have family in Woodbury, NJ and they have taught me a thing or two. The Tony Luke’s in south Philly is the only one I’ve been to and I have to say it just wasn’t good. That’s

And they make good sandwiches. As much as the food network likes to pump up shitty Tony Luke’s I think the pimple-faced teen at Wawa makes better cheesesteaks. But what do I know I’m from Texas. Down here we have Bu- ee’s and Quick Trip.

Acceptance is the first step. It takes a big person to admit that their chosen candidate was every bit as shitty as they were told. However the system is build around, by and for people like clinton and this ass clown former campaign manager. So in the future I think every single one of us would do well to remember

Hillary Clinton is a scam artist and you are one of the many who can’t seem to give it up. She lost because she wasn’t well qualified. A well qualified candidate would not have lost to a muppet. Having credentials does not make one qualifted all in its own. Nobody knows what she really stands for. In a world of liars

This comment is a cry for help. There is literally not enough time in the day to explain every way in which you are wrong. But siffice to say that what you are advocating will not only cause more conflict than it will resolve but will also not solve anything as the people who voted for trump live in literaply every

Lol troy Aikman is anything but a homer. When he first started out he was and he got shit for it so he went the other direction and was too harsh on his old team. Now he’s found a happy medium and literally every fan base complains about how he’s against them during a broadcast which to me means he’s doing a good job
