The problem is it’s a redesign of a redesign... Yoshitaka Amano’s original concept drawings were “reduced” to the SNES character portrait sprites, and the Android/iOS port tried to ‘upscale’ the character sprites to match the ‘downscaled’ portrait sprites from the SNES port.

“Fucky” is the best possible way to describe the Android/iOS port’s visuals.
