There hasn't been a multiplayer game to ever do this between PS3 and Xbox 360 to my knowledge. X360 to PC, yes. But not PS3 to X360. Not due to technical limitations but mostly due to corporate competition. : /

For a gaming monitor? A lot of games still don't support 2560x1440. Wait till the prices go down for monitors/panels that support that resolution and they become more mainstream.
