One's a front-wheel drive automatic and t'other's rear-wheel drive manual, can you predict the outcome?
So BMW will over style it, and Toyota will kill the fun? Got it.
Taking the Toyota motor out defeats the purpose of buying a Toyota. I know BMW makes a great I6 and all. . . but what prevents me from buying a sweet used M3 or M5, M coupe etc is the nightmare of out-of-warranty repairs. It's also why those cars sell so cheap used (I think a E60 M5 is in the $20s now).
That's really not that big of a job on a Miata, though. Replace the rear main seal when doing the clutch job, the front main seal, cam seal, and VC gasket during a T-belt/water pump replacement. I'd be replacing the T-belt and all drive belts first thing with this car anyway, and I'd probably do the clutch around then…
I actually did buy a 22 year old one with 201k on the clock...no rust, suspension still happy, no leaks! It was a 91 short-nose crank engine so it did die and I threw a long-nose engine from a 92 in...in a parking lot with a couple buddies.
Super easy, runs super happy. More than worth it.
On the topic at hand...no NA…
How is the BMW 2002 not on this list?!?!?!
SUPRAAAAAAAA YEAH!
Sorry, had to get that out. It's about time a Supra-dedicated article appeared on Jalopnik. Plus, MkIV=my username. My favorite MkIV is a red BPU turbo with a targa top, tan leather seats, upgraded suspension for the track, and some decent wheels (heavy CCW classic/ light BBS wheels?). Fact is,…
NSX > RX-7 > Supra > 300ZX. Based on looks alone, IMO. I was too young in the early nineties to really know much about the actual performance and driving of these things, but they were totally awesome to look at.
Yeah, I know the T5,
You don't need a license to drive on the sidewalk.
