Yeah. You've got those in the commentariat who get really antsy whenever you mention the problems the groups of people have in a society. Repeat after me, folks: An individual or group having a worse situation than you does not invalidate your struggles or accomplishments.

If you want to see bad try posting an opposing viewpoint on Jezebel or Gawker, or any political site like The Blaze.com or Daily Kos. Gamers are no worse than any other group, in any group you find people in that group that are filled with nothing but vitriol.

The funny thing is I came here to make just this point. The sort of things mentioned in the above article are hardly exclusionary to female characters. Men get murdered, mutilated, sexualized ect. and nobody bats a damn eyelash. Do the same for female characters and people get angry.
