i’ve always felt that our best option is to maintain a gradient of success and material wealth while raising the floor. people who are spectacularly productive or innovative can still receive outsize compensation without our overall wealth and income distributions being so skewed and leaving so many in penury.
we live in a democratic republic. if our elected representatives enact policies that redistribute resources, that’s neither charity nor outright theft, just public policy.
