patrick lynch is the worst type of garbage human. whenever people break out the old “it’s just a few bad apples” defense for nypd i retort that the continued election of lynch (and mullins for that matter) demonstrates how little the rank and file care about the people they’re supposed to be serving and protecting.

the commish and the iab are both full of shit. all officers involved in this farce need to be fired immediately.

who cares, they are both terrible?

vinnie johnson doesn’t know why you got to drag him into this

no. but signing the clean air act, signing the americans with disabilities act, raising taxes when it proved necessary despite having promised not to, and actually serving in the military instead of dodging all place him a cut above the current (mcconnell/ryan/trump/palin/pence/king/gohmert/farenthold) g.o.p. losers.

correction: this list is specifically for giving a someone who “doesn’t like beer” but wants to the chance to try and find some styles he can get with.

you repurposed chatham’s chart, but here’s chatham on the issue:

did you actually look at that govtrack link? jeffries is #419 of 438 congresspeople, with 438 being the most liberal. for comparison, maxine waters was 385, beto o’rourke was 306, pelosi was 278.

“I’d nix the sour and put in either...”

chewie poops solid cubes like a wombat. no fuss, no muss, no wiping necessary.

the archeological evidence for the prior mass extinction events is pretty thorough, and kolbert lays it out in the book, which i again commend to your attention as you could be writing from an informed position instead of making highly dubious claims, e.g. calling into question extensively studied mass extinction event

so you made a substantive accusation of misconduct against him and provided witnesses, but the “independent investigation” ignored it? ugh, that is troubling.

i don’t see anything wrong with what he said and it certainly doesn’t seem to provide any support for a claim that “his veneer of progressivism and geniality fell away; how easily he slid into bullying and misogyny when the endless waves of praise and adoration ceased for a second.”

because obvisouly one can’t write about history unless one lived through the era under discussion. that’s why geology and history departments are filled with billion-year-old professors.

the principle of secular government is more important than any one person’s right to wear religious gear. it is the government’s secular nature that guarantees people the right to practice their religion, but for us all to be secure in the same guarantee we need the government to guard its secularism.

a “very specific and bigoted ban” targeted against muslims... that was put in place 181 years ago? i don’t think they had much anti-muslim hysteria back then.

we are talking about the venezuela where hyperinflation has prices doubling every 4 weeks, right? the place run by someone who won office via an election widely declared fraudulent? what specifically are you referring to as a “baseless attack”?

if you called most of those g.o.p.-supporting cubans “floridians of color” they’d be ready to shoot you. they’re the “my ancestors are from galicia and we’re pure spanish cuban” crowd.

i am admittedly not the most informed about these two men, but my understanding is that rick scott led his hospital corporation to defraud the government of almost two billion dollars, while desantis is a racist. it is unclear to me that stealing billions intended for the care of elderly people is less horrible than ra
