now that is just cruel.
now that is just cruel.
If my cat doesn’t stop trying to wake me up this morning I’m going to take away ALL his hats and he’ll look SO FOOLISH.
I don’t even care if the reviews are horrible and everyone I know says the movie sucks. I’m going to see it. And I’m taking my daughter. We are going to sit there and eat popcorn and she is going to laugh (because she’s 10 and doesn’t know any better) and I will probably laugh too (because my sense of humor is about…
I’m starting the AllieCat fan club...our mascots will be cats with hats and cathy cosplayers.
At first I was super mad, then I got to the 4th line (5th sentence).
.
I adore, love, and admire 3 out of 4 of these women, and I will see this on opening night. I cannot even imagine that it won’t be hilarous!!
I think McCarthy said it best on Graham Norton last week — they aren’t collecting up every copy of the original two and burning them. You can still watch those movies, bros.
For a moment ignoring the sexist dick-drools.
Well, personally I’m hella excited. Ghostbusters was the first movie my partner and I watched, the first day we met. So it’s kinda ‘our’ film. And this one even has women in! What can be better than that? :D
Well, rock bands are now boxed into the indie category and don't get mainstream airtime. The rap and hip hop stuff that makes it onto the radio is mostly about going to the club with bundles of cash to pick up some ladies with big booties. Pop was never the stream for this sort of song.
Ok, perhaps that was written in the script or character background. But she looks 100% not Asian at all. Not even close.
I don't know what TCM is like in America, but the quality of some of the prints that get screened on TCM in Australia is woeful. "Poltergeist" looked like it was made in the 1950s. I seem to recall that "Soylent Green" and "Westworld" looked like shit too. Like really old VHS quality.
This is accurate. How do you improve perfection?
TCM is really nothing short of a miracle - uninterrupted, uncut films from a wide variety of eras, knowledgeable and genial hosts, incredible original documentaries and a mixture of revered classics, forgotten films and cult fare. It's the best channel on TV, no questions.
@genevievep: I always thought that Violet's power was a sort of reference to the fact that she was a powerfully awkward teenage girl with no confidence in herself (hence her name, which is like "shrinking violet"). She literally turns invisible when the cutest boy in her class walks by. She feels like her powers just…
@genevievep: I *liked* that Dory was "asexual." Most of the time, a woman is only in a movie if the role calls specifically for a woman - as a love interest, mom, etc. I would love it if more movies filled roles that were sort of neutral & not needing one specific gender to play it with women.
@genevievep: Right, so Dory should instead be hyper sexual or something and should have fallen in love with Marlin. Because a character isn't a woman if she doesn't have a sexuality. what?
@genevievep: I dunno about you, but the instances where she was "nagging" was done so rightly because of valid concerns of hers. She was worried that the children and they would have to be uprooted again because of Bob's secret outings performing hero work with his powers, which was obviously in violation of the terms…
Actually, this is no longer true. Those two arcades on Guadalupe, Einstein's and Le Fun, have closed. The Drag is now trendy and corporate. One of the major drives behind the opening of Arcade UFO was to bring back the arcade experience to Austin. Several of the people are former Einstein's employees. Anyway,…
