I learned that Regency men stopped wearing underwear because the pants were so tight?

I think they wore underwear under their slops or Venetians (as the "shorts" were called!). Tailoring for tight pants did not exist until the 18th century. When men sat down, their ass would be hanging out because tailors did not know how to make a crotch seam. (Really.) So the Elizabethan men would either tuck in

Yes, they probably did smell horrible, but it's not like they didn't have underwear! The under dress seen in the portrait of the lady in green would have been washed often, and she would have had many linen dresses to wear under the over dress.

Honestly, this is all common sense, I can't believe there are women who don't know about these processes. HOWEVER, the shower method blew my mind. Thanks, Jolie!

I want to expand the image so I can see the dress's detail. Incredible.

But she DOES have a girly voice. So does Ailsa Chang. And they still get stuff done.

Well, this is wonderful. I might actually watch it because it's genuinely funny.

I think it's easier to see his minor resemblance to Fred Armisen with the bangs.

I actually saw her recently and she is still, and always, be hot. Love her.

And? The gala is meant to honor whatever exhibit the Costume Institute is putting on. More and more it seems like the Vogue team is dictating what that exhibit should be. Case in point: what probably started as a cool Schiaparelli exhibit became a shitty Schiaparelli/Prada exhibit.

Am I the only one who's offended that the Met is doing a show about punk? Obviously the fashion was important to the artistic movement, but a Chanel punk-inspired dress is hardly museum-worthy. Why won't Anna Wintour actually let the Met do important artistic and historically research on, say, anything else?

1) FUCKING GODDAMMIT, I DON'T WANT TO BE RELATED TO HIM!!!

They have an online store now!

SWINTON looks nothing like her. But of course she is pure perfection in her own way.

What is the point of bringing Lacroix to a brand and then not have him be there permanently? I wonder if the creative director will be Nicolas Ghesquiere.

One princess to rule them all,

YES, Lacroix is back! I admit, I haven't always been a fan, but if anyone can revive the Schiaparelli name, it's him. I was wondering if he would be named artistic director. I hope he will if/once the collection is reviewed positively.

First of all, thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures! Secondly, I'm going with no because the artist paints herself in such a way to negate her individual facial characteristics and blend herself into the background. If the same were done at a fashion shoot, I would have no problem with that.

Oh, for fuck's sake. Not again. I have to say, out of all of the many horrendous blackface shoots Jezebel has pointed out over the years, this one has made me physically ill. So bravo for that, I guess...

I can't tell if you're trolling, either, but what I really can't understand is the inhumanity of YOUR comment, saying that the women who died from Gosnell's butchery "deserve" it.
