Well engagement rings are arguably outdated and sexist which some might find stupid. Clearly you have an engagement ring so you can't be expected to be objective on the matter. Instead find another tradition where the facts and implications are similar and ask yourself whether it is something we should continue with.

The fact that the OP herself is an exception leads me to believe she must be aware of their existence.

It appears the question was directed at the majority who do. When someone makes a statement addressing a general majority personal anecdotes are kind of off topic since usually most people understand the world is full of exceptions. It would be impossible to say anything about anything without this implicit

I understand although tradition hasn't stopped us from dismantling other practises that appear outdated. The fact that most western women are okay with this one sounds awfully convenient.

That's funny!

That is funny!

Did anyone ask why anyone needs to save for a ring in the first place or why that isn't totally demeaning to women and a waste of money for men ?

Shouldn't we be more worried about society making women wear a piece of ring just like a "sold" sign you'd hang on a used car? We chastise other cultures for treating women like property while this unnecessary circus goes on without much objection.

Does this take the in stadium experience into account as well because I'm not sure snow improves that experience.

If you've been tracking the rebuttals to Dobbs you'd know that even Dobbs himself doesn't believe what he wrote anymore. He has spent the past couple days backtracking in comment sections and in his Twitter.

Statistically the OP is correct. This neither means that what is outlined is unique to African Americans nor applies to all African Americans. It's simply a statement of relative probabilities that is supported by the data.

Both you and the OP are correct. Your positions aren't mutually exclusive

I have no idea why everyone is so convinced he did this on purpose. If you're trying to block a returner at least have a plan that puts you on the field impeding the runner without giving him an opportunity to simply run around you. All this is quite an ambitious scheme that had very little chance of working.

Yeah still nothing on tackling moving living organisms

I agreed with this sentiment until I read league of denial. I mean how dumb could you be to think it was safe. Well nfl is not being sued because everyone just realized football was unsafe they're being sued for a conceited effort to inform the players that football was indeed safe.

Ok so all nfl tackles must now be head on....got it

Yeah so their arms aren't by their side if you actually watch the video also not sure why that makes a difference given that that doesn't prevent helmet contact anyway. So according to you nfl defenders can't play football but you obviously have it all figured out so I'm surprised you're not in the pro bowl.

Ah so Jimmy Smith should have just went head up straight into Bell's chest. I wonder why he didn't think of that

So I couldn't find any links explaining how this heads up thing works for actual moving humans say an nfl RB perhaps. I did find quite a bit on how to address a tackling dummy or an immobile upright friend.
