Then they lose the money they get from her Royal estates. It would cost them money to become a Republic. That’s before you throw in tourism, & a built in check & balance to make sure some asshat like Trump doesn’t end up in charge.

Even more so when it’s not the governments money that is being spent. The Queen in return for being queen helps support the country with the income from her estates. If Britain were to become a Republic taxes would have to go up as you’d lose money in the deal.
