If you love the series then you will overlook the frame drops. It's part and parcel of the whole package.

I am actually surprised (and a bit scared) not to see the game that I hate... Half-Life 2. Absolutely loved Half-Life. Have played it multiple times and it still is one of my favorites

Half-Life 2 though... ugh... I couldn't get past that it seemed to me to just be a disjointed narrative for a new game engine demo.
