Micro-transactions are for whales and people who are naturally predisposed to haphazardly spend cash. It’s not for the regular Joe. But to get the regular Joe involved, the game is oft designed subtly or not to encourage spending. This is why the majority of games with micro-transactions feel so grindy or repetitive.

Not everyone plays games for the same reason (i.e. you might play for the difficulty where others do for the story/atmosphere). And beyond that, an easy mode doesn’t diminish your playthrough. “it’s good because it’s hard” can be said about most games with their difficulty turned up, if that’s your thing. Beyond that

I say buy your kid "boy" toys and "girl" toys, as well as whatever "unisex" toys you can find, no matter your kid's sex.
