We had a closed fuel cycle, like France does. We don’t run it because it produces a tiny bit of stuff that can be used to make H bombs and we signed an agreement. Closed cycle with breeder reactors is the way to go and minimize waste to the greatest extent possible.

Garage conversions can also have massive code issues. Most garages are designed as a separate air space to the house, aren’t conditioned or insulated. I’d be very concerned someone didn’t do the conversion correctly.

Have a spare starter capacitor on site. They are like $20 and quite easy to change out. It’s typically something that fails on the hottest of days and you’re looking at a $200+ service charge + parts to get it replaced by a tech.
