Find your utility shut offs as well. Gas, water, power, etc. Helpful to know where those are (and if they actually work) before you really need to find them.

Sorry, I should have clarified. The goal is to have al dente pasta at the end of all cooking steps. So you have to pull it way before al dente, then finish in sauce. Also, if there’s too much lag between butter addition and sauce addition, the butter will prevent the pasta from absorbing the sauce.

This is entirely temperature setting dependent. You shouldn’t line any oven with foil as it can cause quite a mess. I cook in my convection oven with foil nearly daily with zero issues.

I love the generic term for them:

It’s also a function of how finely chopped it is. The finer the chop, the more spice you get.
