You mean Sir Harley Gassup?
It’s also much much easier to reop and re-sell a car vs. a house. That was part of the problem in the housing crash. It was very difficult for the banks to gain possession of the property and try to sell it to someone that wants it.
But that’s the entire point of the used car market. Even if you had two cars with exactly the same trim, options, and millage, there’d still be something that differentiates the two cars, which directly impacts the asking price for the vehicle.
2nd gear: If they spent the capital, they wouldn’t have the profits. That’s just how business works.
Subaru’s done the same with the WRX / STi. They ship the dealership staff out to a track and let them rip some. Helps the sales folks understand what the cars can actually do. Also hopefully it lowers the temptation for joy rides to “see what it can do” with an owners car.
Because car A and car B both are not exactly the same like they would be new. One might have work done, the other might have had maintenance deferred. It’s very difficult to price compare used cars for this and many other reasons.
Great point. I meant the costs associated with getting a college degree require a high paying job to pay back the loans / costs incurred with the education.
It also doesn’t help that my generation was sold a few giant lies:
I had a really awesome guidance team in High School. They took over our English class for a week, had us do career placement quizzes / tests to see what would be a good fit. They also had a book from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics that has degree required, avg salary @ entry level, mid, and senior level along…
Yes, but with some caveats.
Now get back to work!
@Tesla, please make this a think. I’d love to see them buzzing around going womp womp womp womp.

That means you’re not offering enough money for the job.
Depending on the sunscreen it’s a massive pain to rub in past all the hair. It’s even worse if it’s a sticky type of sunscreen.
A big component is body hair + sticky sunscreen = no thank you
