How about we background-check men to see if they have kids before they're allowed to drink in bars because what if they're abusive alcoholic dads? I mean, seriously?

I suspect that when I am pregnant, I will spend quite a bit of time scolding strangers who suddenly treat my body like it is public property. And yet, it seems necessary. If everyone just smiles and bears it, like this article suggests we should, folks won't get the feedback needed to realize that they should keep…
Oh, man. I ended up in HR over my tea.
I was a server through much of college and a little beyond. Two ways you're wrong:
"Ignoring the fact that the server does the same amount of work for a $5 salad and a $30 steak?"
I put some cash in my Vet's account every other month so it is there when and if I need it, at the end of the year I give some of it to the vet as a donation for people who are struggling with vet bills.
And here I am being a cynic (knowing nothing about the subject) assuming they put it in there to take up more space in the glass.
Its there to rip you off on liquor. Every time I go to a bar that does that I ask for the glass with ice and then the liquor in a shot glass. When I pour in the shot, it will overflow, compared to my buddies that is 1/2 down from the top. Then just keep ordering shots and pour into the glass.
Smells like pop psychology BS
No offense, but I think it's time to stop posting. You're rude, you're wrong, and you're incoherent.
I'm not even including your opening hyperbole. I work at a laboratory and we use 70% alcohol to sanitize our hands. I spray my hands probably 5-8 times per day in addition to repeated hand washing with soap. My skin is far from "destroyed". Using it on your feet from time to time wouldn't have any noticeable effect...…
You vastly overstate the impact of alcohol on skin.
Not everyone enjoys gardening or riding bikes. Not everyone can be "happy" in a smaller house. People like different things. And, fundamentally, that's ok.
I need a good stereo BT headset for my phone for work, but I also want to listen to tunes and to audiobooks while I'm doing other things. Probably the best I've found the Plantronics Backbeat 903+, even tho they're an older model. Which actually isn't a drawback, as they're usually available for about $60. My…
That said, it's still not as good as wired audio, and some people say it's still unacceptable overall. Still, there are situations where it's good enough for what you want:
You're a fucking idiot.
Congratulations. In your oh-so valiant attempt to discredit someone you don't know, accusing them of things you have no proof of, and whining that they did or said things that don't mean anything to anyone but you, all you've done is proven you're the one who's a colossal asshole.
A more important question would be why would anyone use Access - or Excel (shudder)? (I kid, I kid)
Yeah, as long as you know that these programs are often sensational and making a big deal about "attacks blocked" that are in reality nothing in a cash grab looking to sell you the "pro" version. But if you're smart enough to know this, you might be informed and careful enough of a user not to need the software in…
@ficcionista: A lot of times with layoffs they don't give you a settlement package. Good luck with that plan.
