thats is kinda true but, if they are build with different architecture(eg ps3/ps4) they need several times the power of the previous console. this is why ps4 cant run ps3 game and unless NX is much much more powerful than ps4(which is impossible) it will not be backward compatible

well MH games is popular on handheld device, 3DS has huge user base and minimum development cost on 3DS(shitty non HD grahpic) so yeah it very very unlikely it will be release on ps4 or even wiiu for that matter
