Processors and screens are subject to Moore's Law, but unfortunately battery tech is not.

The whole room is mounted on springs, I'm guessing as vibration dampers. If they're expecting to be vibrated by the equivalent of a small nuclear blast, seat belts might be wise if the springs don't filter out all the vibration frequencies. Or if they hit a harmonic frequency that causes them to shake in tandem with…
Wow....good job on COMPLETELY missing the point of Long's article. Very nice.
Are there any cheaper alternatives to this? A connected, learning thermostat is a great idea, but $250 is a bit much. Especially since I'd need two for two zones.
Seriously? Stealth is a mature technology. You really don't think we have already had stealth drones for a long time? Sheesh.
Basically, be careful what you wish for. Especially when the wishes are couched in such wildly asshole snobbery like it is here.
I'm being very tongue in cheek with this, but I actually agree with you. I think Westerners should be careful about judging folks they know nothing about and writing condescending articles like this one.
Totally...don't you feel great now that you're not being taken advantage of?
They'll be much happier when their production lines become fully automated and they lose their jobs. The slave labor problem will be solved!!!
For them to use it, they need the remote control cockpit gear they use to operate it. Its like having the RC car with the controller. Even if (big if) you could buy the controller for this, they're not going to be able to pair it up with the bird, so its not like they're going to be able to use it themselves.
The only reason for them to do this is for them to save $$'s. I'm expecting a highly (if not fully) automated production line that will end up being cheaper than even Asian labor.
A few kids lose their jobs. Society as a whole gets cheaper food prices. Seems like an overall winner, even if it sucks for the kids.
They've got to pay for all the custom driver development, maybe? Also, maybe they're anticipating higher support costs and factoring that in as well.
Hah! I didn't think about that. Of course its only cheating if someone else does it. If our guys are doing it, its called Justice.
True...there's countermeasures for everything. You could mitigate it somewhat by turning it on only for a few seconds when you are acquiring your shot. But you'd have to move your *ss if you didn't want to get shot in return.
You're probably right. If they dropped a miniaturized doppler radar into the scope they could map out the wind patterns between the gun and the target exactly. Add a built-in altimeter and humidity meter, and they really could do a sniper-less sniper rifle.
Assuming this takes distance, wind, etc in account, if they just add auto-trigger so the scope can fire it without requiring an accuracy-killing human pulling the trigger manually when it judges its on target, then anyone can be a sniper.
How reliable are self-reported answers going to be? My guess is that of course you're going to answer that everything is awesome. Its a problem with all surveys, porn-related or not. I'm sure the skew gets worse when you're asking sensitive questions about abuse history.
Ugh....seriously? How much did he pay you guys to write this?
My thoughts on this is that its a generational cycle that's repeated itself for ages. One generation gets sick of the last generations recycling, and creates "new-ish" stuff. The next generation is raised on it and has built-in incentives (funding, nostalgia, etc) to extend it. The next generation is sick of the…
