@Zelyre: It'd actually be less perplexing if we were all running on the same hardware, wouldn't it? Unfortunately that's just not the case.

@Zelyre: Disabling multicore support would help if we had graphical hitches or hiccups during gameplay, but as it stands right now we sometimes can't even last long enough to reach the "Options - Video - Show Advanced Settings - Multicore Rendering - Disable" part of the main menu without CingTD. It's off, anyway, at

Just a warning for those who dislike walls of text. Long post ahead.

@Xenris: It seems to have fixed some CTD issues for me, but what I find strange is that for the first two days after release, I haven't had any issues with the game whatsoever. Yesterday and the day before, I kept crashing to desktop when trying to play L4D2 while Steam was in Online mode; it worked fine when Offline.

@Mit: I lost my achievements as well. Some people on the Steam forums said that theirs came back along with their stats, but I still have a big fat 0/50 at the top of my achievements list.

With 1,047,671 players online just last night, within the first week of release, that's bound to have happened at least once so far.

@Kral2: I agree that on a business standpoint, the longevity of a subscription-based MMO should depend on the long-term players who stick around even long after achieving endgame levels rather than on potentially more fickle-minded short-term players who would probably pay for a month (and this *after* the free trial

@Atheist Jew: That Asian is pretty cute. Was she around when you were still there, or did they hire her after? If the latter, I'd say that warrants a "GOOD JOB, GUYS!" too. #gameinformer

Any news on whether or not the Kel-Dor will be a playable race? I became a huge fan of Plo Koon after playing as him in Jedi Power Battles. #starwarstheoldrepublic

I hate campers!

@Clarke has received achievement: "h4xed"

@disdathit: No, because that's a senseless and ultimately unfruitful rhetorical command whereas the suggestion that American kids are unhealthily hooked on games is a valid yet exaggerated fact which leads to an equally valid yet exaggerated suggestion (which many people have taken to mean "Obama hates videogames"

And this right after Obama tells parents to get their kids to game less and do more.

@PunkyChipsAhoy: This is Bowie to Bowie, do you read me out there, man?
