Armor lock really only works if you have teammates near by. Teammates that will actually help you, that is. If the person attacking you is kinda dumb you can usually cut it off right when they start to turn away then run away.
I really think annually is too much. Every two years seems just about right. I played Halo 3 up until about a year ago, so about two years would be good.
