They were planning to film to versions of the same scene— one with the puppet, and one without that they would insert a CGI Baby Yoda into in post. Herzog saved us form the uncanny valley version, and ensured that we would all be blessed by the One True Baby Yoda.

I never said being friends with a Republican is the same as being friends with a rapist. You knew from my comment that I was talking about Ellen’s friendship with George W. Bush, so it was misleading to suggest I was comparing being friends with a rapist to being friends with a generic Republican, rather than a

“Asking for real because being friends with a republican should not be compared to being friends with a rapist.”

They are hardly benign if they’re antivaxxers.

I am talking about her friendship with a man who, just to start off with, misled us into a war costing 100,000+ lives and who oversaw a program of torture. Do I need to keep going, or would you like to continue with the misleading characterization of my comment?

He tries SO HARD to show how solid his relationship with Jessica Biel is. To me, that screams insecurity. The gestures on Instagram, the long poetic posts....and this MOTHERFUCKER made a career on the infidelity mistakes his teenage girlfriend made. Its sickening.

People will always go to bat for abusers when they know them and work for them, just ask the men at Deadspin about the lengths they went to shield their coworkers from criticism from allegations that they sexually assault women. Bringing it up got me banned over there and put into the greys on Jezebel, because

Imagine having the freedom to make a comfortable living writing and reporting upon literally anything you want and deciding what you want to write and report on is that society is too mean to people who were complicit in the serial sexual abuse of minors. Because that is literally Malcolm Gladwell’s situation.

Gladwell’s work is a derivative commentary and thus no approval is required.

Gladwell, a hack? No way. I’ve spent over 10,000 hours studying his work, so I can assure you that I am an expert.

You mean someone who made his whole career extrapolating anecdotes did lazy work vetting his resources? Say it isn’t so! He’s a hack and I’m not at all surprised that he didn’t think for one second about these victims as anything but fodder for a story.

How curious that a guy that hung out with Jeffrey Epstein would either ignore women’s voices or use them without their consent in his book.

Read the Vulture piece. The grad student sounds like the only one with an acutal head on her shoulders.

I’m of the opinion that no apology at all is better than a forced one. Just own it. Be proud of being a thin-skinned bully who seems to have a lot of free time on their hands.

“Nelson, who is now a graduate student in linguistics studying online harassment”

So a female college student attempted to raise the level of discourse on her campus by removing books written for young teens from the recommended reading list. Seems like a good thing. It is infantilizing for the college students to have children’s books recommended for them. Sure it might be enjoyable to read these

This reminds me of when Nicholas Sparks said he doesn’t write romance novels and that he was actually the natural successor to Hemingway, Shakespeare, and Euripides. (I’m 100% serious about this.)
