From the excerpt on Elle's website:

Yeah, sorry we expect to be treated like people here.

I hope she just hires a PI with the computer skills to trace the hacker, then gets her lawyers to nail him to the wall. Make it known what happens when you fuck with her. It's time we pushed back.

Anyway, it's sounding more and more like all or most of the photos are fake anyway.

I have a few thoughts on this one:

You get that there's nothing inherently wrong with sexy cartoons, right? The reason feminists would be sensitive towards similarly sexualized depictions of women is because it would be emblematic of the way society in general treats women as two-dimensional sex objects, devaluing them (at best) and making them

Someone please come bleach my brain because that song was wretched and the color palette was even worse.

Thank you for figuring out a way to quickly and succinctly explain why I have such an aversion to dumb, insincere bullshit like this.

OK, help me out here. Hours ago we got a "review" of Ariana Grande's "Break Free" which is very literally exclusively a cooing, pouting, eye lash batting, zero g writhing, hair tossing exercise in "fuck me fuck me fuck me", as delivered by what appears to be virtually a CG idealization of youthful desireablity, while

Yeah, but books don't make the bootyz drop.

No author has any duty to represent any marginalized populations, but it does annoy me to no end when straight male writers get really into describing thier female characters' "curious" same-sex forays, but do no such thing for the male characters. Martin is guilty of this (see: Dany and Irri, Cersei and

Sure, it's his prerogative to be squeamish and pull his punches, by having a gay character but only having gay sex occur 'offstage'— and it's also our prerogative to point & laugh at his squeamishness. Haw haw!! </nelson voice>

I think Martin's argument is that Renley hasn't been what he's calling a "viewpoint character". I think it's a spurious argument, personally, because as the author Martin gets to choose which characters are "viewpoint characters". His whole argument basically boils down to "there's no gay sex because I didn't want

I've thought seriously that Denton and co. prefer a shitstorm that leads to a crazy comment board, full of people whose only engagement in the discussion is being ever more extreme and persistent in throwing viewpoints with no interest in discussion.

Jezebel is not the government, dude. You're not guaranteed free speech. If the people of Jez want to decide that it's better to err on the side of caution and ban assholes who appear to be trolls, you can a) go elsewhere with your trolling nonsense or b) stop being such a fucking troll.

I use to go to other sites and read the comments and think "thank goodness Jezebel is not like that." The previous systems that use to be in place that promoted and encouraged quality commenting really made a difference. It is still not quite as bad as other places but I don't really see as much of a difference

ha well.... actually... we were going to go out. there was a miyazaki film festival here in LA at the time, and I thought we might go to that. She was out of town at the time, then I called when she got back and she was all "oh, well actually you know you're really nice, but I have been seeing this guy for a while now

I know I'm gonna sound like a maverick here, but maybe wait until a woman hunts for someone via social media and gets called desperate for doing so and THEN write about how awful it is, instead of doing this weird speculative fiction thing just so you can put a negative spin on a cute happy story.

same way they don't notice when they're dragging ass and people have to pull around them. Some people are really so focused on themselves that they miss what's going on around them.

It would be nice to have less Kardashian and more, well, anything really.

This reinforces my belief that John Green is just generally a good guy but also just funny enough to be cool.
