I love a lot of the opening themes you mentioned — and I still regularly want to fast forward through them (yes, including changing ones like GoT — seeing whether they’ll show me The Twins again gives me no thrill whatsoever). I LOVE this newly invented “skip intro”option.

No, it’s the most recent season. The premiere aired before May 31, so it’s eligible this year. (I believe that’s the rule. In any event, all the specific episodes nominated are from the most recent season. http://www.emmys.com/shows/veep)

They’ve both had 3 seasons, yeah. But Black-ish has had three seasons during peak programming months with a sweet time slot, whereby Carmichael Show has had three seasons burned off in the summer. (Also, their three seasons have been 72 episodes (Black-ish) and 32 episodes (Carmichael Show).)

I agree 100% on Veep. This was its weakest season by far. But it seems to me that Emmy wins are like money — the easiest way to get an Emmy win is to already have an Emmy win.
