I’ve had this same argument numerous times.

My mom had a ‘78 Pinto when I was a child. I loved it desperately, and wish that I’d been able to drive it at some point.

I think that adjustment makes all the difference. I’d agree on late-90's to early-00's miscellaneous Buick, based on that.

Had a ‘99 Sport 3.9 w/ 5-spd in amethyst pearlcoat. I had a fiberglass cap on it, but don’t remember the brand off the top of my head (I do know it was like $700-800 at the time). I drove it from 2001-2009, and the only issue I had was a bad rear wheel speed sensor that killed the engine when I made right turns.

Sounds similar to the Amish...except every day. They can use electronics, but can’t own them. As long as it’s owned by someone else, game on. Company laptops using company-owned iPhones as hotspots in order to work from home? Yep...I’ve seen it happen.

I remember a C&D article where someone was attempting to race an RX7 (I think GSL) and they had to scrape asphalt sound-deadening out of the car to save weight. The article was sometime in the early or mid 90's and the car was an FB.

To be sure, he most likely is. I just think it would’ve been smarter to just use a mechanical release. Can they jam? Sure...but it’s not that likely.

My Accord has a trunk lockout in the glove compartment, and the glove compartment can be locked with the key. If I hand the fob to, say, a valet or anyone else (fob is all that’s necessary to start the car), they can’t get into the glove compartment or trunk if I set the lockout, lock the glove compartment and keep…

Or...you know...maybe a manually opening glovebox.

A Transit Connect would’ve made me so happy 20 years ago. Hell, it would make me happy now, but I’m not carting drums around anymore.
