I wanted to give it a chance, and I kind of thought it was okay, but after writing this, I realize just how bad it really is.

My parents and my wife both enjoyed watching old Top Gear with me. I loved that about the show. My wife has no interest in cars whatsoever, but she’d voluntarily sit down with me and watch. My dad became a real fan of it.

IMO Harris should be a full time cast member and Evans should sticck to being a role player who does the interviews (what he’s actually been ok at his whole career) and the occasional VT segment. Of course his salary and ego would never allow that so I have to just dream.

Chris Evans is the biggest problem, it’s evident, it’s mentioned in almost everything written and widely agreed upon by vocal fans of the show. It was something almost everyone agreed would be the problem at the announcement. BBC needs to either eat the contract or watch the show die...they have a handful of ready…

Just rooting for it to crash and burn this season so that they can bring in Chris Harris to host the real show. During the whole McLaren segment, I was envisioning how much better it would be with Harris.

Maybe if he yelled a little louder then more people would watch.

I enjoy it just as any other car show but lets face facts here, it wasn’t the cars that made Top Gear. It’s those damn old senile bastards that did, which is why i only watched the first episode of the new top gear today and i’ll be watching every episode of the Grandest Tour

Why is he taking it so seriously? He’s the parent running to the kid who wiped out and justifying the shrieks.

The show took an unplanned and extended haiatus with next to no publicity to keep it in the forefront. I would say this is to be expected.

Didn’t they realize that this was going to be the result?
