If the show/movie is great then that’s all that matters. Some die hard fans will gripe but that’ll be very few. If it’s not good people will play the blame game and scream at everything from woke, to story decisions, to writing, etc.

I get super gamer gate vibes from this entire community and the level of moronic conspiracy is just bogglingly stupid. In a few comments against a YongYea video I saw people claiming that Sweet Baby developed over 90% of Suicide Squad. It’s so incredibly stupid that it make my head physically hurt

I’m an xbox fan and I’m all for this. I’d like to see fewer exclusives going forward. Hopefully Sony learns they can increase sales with day 1 PC releases to go with PS5 titles. I’d also love to see Nintendo put out (more) PC titles but I’m not holding my breath.

Quick! Someone call the FTC! Oh wait, they’re in Sony’s bed. Seriously, exclusives are awful, closed and, frankly, financially stupid. I wish we could bury this practice across all platforms.

The Devs culpability is clear but they’re not the only player in this game, Steam/Valve is also, albeit to a much lessor extent. I don’t think vetting every single product is feasible (too much volume) but I know that a wild-west wide open door is not either. This is the most spectacular fraud but it’s far from the

I wanted to see who won in each category and most of the major news outlets had article after article about various trailers & announcements. I had to do a more focused search to find who won. My “back of the napkin” take, based on media reporting, is that this is 90% marketing / 10% awards, probably more.

It’s been the best year for gaming in a decade, maybe even ever! So let’s everyone layoff staff, increase the bottom-line and pay CEOs massive bonuses! Hooray for capitalism! *vomits*

Sounds promising! Wish them the best of luck! As a daily consumer I would gladly pay a small-ish amount for good content without the ridiculous ad-farm that some sites fall victim to (not mentioning names lol).

I predict a classic tactic used in business, politics and negotiations. You want $50 but your target will be incensed, angry that you’re asking for it. So instead you ask for $500, you incur a little wrath then say “Ok, how about $50?”. Your target says “Whew, ok $50 isn’t so bad” when in truth, the $50 would’ve been

I did a do-over after seeing this in my game and the 2nd time I initiated surprise combat before the dialog starts. Worked like a charm plus you still get Astarian present for other dialogs and post battle cut scenes.

oooh yes! Great choice!! I will always remember that scene and how it cuts to black with the “Take me back” song starting to play. All the chills.

I’m sure everyone will have one not on the list lol :) Mine: AC2 when the ‘hologram’ stops talking to Ezio, who was in the room with her, and starts addressing Desmond who was in the Animus. It was a scream out loud  ‘OMG!’ drop the controller moment for me.

It’s similar to the trend chasing that Hollywood’s done for decades. In the late 50's the fad was big epic historical movies (Ben-Hur, Cleopatra, Ten Commandments and so many more), in the 70's, after Star Wars was a plethora of space movies, most of which nobody remembers. TV chases trends too whether it be medial

Exclusivity can kill. It may (debatably) work for big multi-gazillion dollar studios but indies should think very long and hard before signing. A game pass deal and/or multi-platform release could have made the difference but now they’ll never know. Will that exclusivity check be enough money to maintain operations in

There’s a mid level Logistics Analyst in Minneapolis who will be laid off when the company uses AI to calculate routes/rates/loads etc....Six months later a mid-level staff accountant at a firm in Boise will be laid off when his/her company uses AI to help with the books...Later still, a Paralegal in Chicago will be

Yep, I understand where you’re coming from and you are correct. My original point is to look at it from high level, (almost) executive/concept level. BigCompanyX wants to make more money from their IP so sell extra stuff - be that merchandise or DLC.

Spending an extra $10 for a doo-hickey related to a franchise whether it’s digital or physical is conceptually identical.

Easy to feel doom & gloom at the prospect of more live service & microtransactions BUT...to put it into perspective -Hollywood has had the same problem for many decades. Big blockbuster franchises like Star Wars, Marvel, etc have their own form of microtransactions in the form of merchandising. Every movie studio

Even after AI is better perfected you’ll still need actual writers to define the characters, motivations, and place in the story. The AI will just add the filler text/minor/misc dialogs which would then be refined/edited by the writer. But even in the far future when AI can do it all (assuming we’re still around), I

It’s an amazing trailer made all the more amazing when you realize it was 100% made using the mod without (afaik) any gimmicks or alterations using just the mod and vanilla minecraft.
