I meant in motivations. Amon's call for equal treatment of non-benders looked reasonable when we saw how benders treated non-benders, and Unalaq looked downright reasonable in the first two episodes. Having clear-cut 'I am here to murder because I am ambitious and ruthless' villains seems to help the show a bit.

God these episodes were great. Pacing was fluid, dialogue snappy, plot elements lining up—-I'm kind of relieved to have an 'obvious' villain back in the seat. Having the 'wait we might agree with these guys' muddled up the first two seasons.
