1st Gear: Difficult to say if this is abnormal, pandemic related, or the price you pay for being an early adopter. EVs are still in their infancy and improve dramatically each new generation. It’s like trying to sell your iPhone X in 2023 and expecting to still get $800 for it. 

It’s not like they were bought by American or Spirit. Alaska has the best domestic service IMO - friendly staff, good coffee, and have only delayed once in my 20 years flying with them.

Mate Rimac (the CEO) is pretty well-known and loved in the community. The fact he’s only 35 blows my mind.

True, some are made in America to qualify for the full tax credit, but as far as I know they are all still Asian companies. American battery manufacturers aren’t going online for another 5+ years.

Canoo is doing it best IMO, by essentially doing away with the hood/frunk altogether in favor of better forward visibility.

What manufacturer is currently using US made batteries? This will be more common by 2030 once plants open, but as of today most if not all batteries are coming from Asia (CATL, Samsung, LG, BYD, SK, etc). Even Tesla is looking to use BYD's Blade Battery for the cheaper Model 2. 

I don’t get the hatred for the Integra. The Civic is one of the best cars on sale, and this is just a nicer version for not that much more money. It’s not my personal pick, but I wouldn’t. call anyone driving one an insufferable contrarian

Huh? The P2 is nothing like a wagon, it’s just a lift back sedan. In that case the Bolt or any SUV would be a proper wagon. Besides the VW the only other EV wagon I’ve seen going on sale is the MG ES, which of course we also won’t get 😢

Agreed. I’m so tired of EU brands saying the US doesn’t want small, premium cars. Sure, it’s not the majority, but then why does everyone I know under 40 who lives in a city and/or doesn’t have a family want something small and efficient? If the ID.3, UP or T-Roc were sold stateside I guarantee you would see them more…

My understanding is a lot of these systems are “set it and forget it”, primarily to increase efficiency; set a temperature, and the HVAC adjust accordingly to least impact range, which is likely more efficient than constantly having to manually adjust the temperature.

They went upmarket in the 2000s and held that image up until Dieselgate, where quality took a noticeable nosedive (assuming because they had to allocate billions to the lawsuit and away from R&D).
