I’m an Android/Pixel user, but gotta admit it’s impressive that an iPhone has the processing power to essentially run an entire car. (Assuming this update will continue operating as a screen projection, and not tap into the car’s processors)

Now playing

Of all vehicles on the road, why isn’t every commercial truck equipped or retrofitted with automatic emergency braking? It’s a no-brainer, especially since it will reduce insurance costs.

They literally white-outted the grille to make it smaller lol. I wouldn’t call it beautiful, but it somehow works and is clearly an RX. The rear-projected backlighting is also a lot more classy than the disco lightshow from the Germans. Can’t wait to see these in every Target parking lot.

That’s actually really f*cking funny, not gonna lie.

Well I guess that explains why their interiors are held together with toothpicks

That are these going for nowadays? I recall the initial target was <100k, then it turned into something absurd like $250k because they wanted to market it as an executive limo. Either way I don’t see how this is relevant. Maybe if they target China exclusively, but even then China has a lot of luxury EVs for a lot

The ad positions VW as “nonconformist,” said Jonathan Santana, a group creative director at Johannes Leonardo who recently joined the agency from Lucky Generals. “We are for those who choose differently.”

I own a Mk7 Alltrack and consider it the last great VW. Understandably Dieselgate stole a lot of funds that would otherwise go into R&D, and the Mk8 is a product of this cost-cutting that unfortunately shows. It may be faster and handle a little better, but overall I believe the Mk7/7.5 is a much higher quality

The Sonata defiantly proved itself as a key part of Hyundai’s revival the past decade, so it’s a little sad to hear. However the Ioniq6 is no doubt going to be a worthy replacement. Here’s hoping it doesn’t stray too far from the prototype.

I never understood why Amber Alerts on phones need to be a blaring alarm. An emergency evacuation, pending nature disaster or similar life threating alerts makes sense, but a “keep your eyes on the lookout for...” shouldn’t require an immediate emergency response. At the very least, Siri/Assistant can chime in say

It’s so funny to me that Lordstown prided itself on being American built and had Trump and Pence back them, only to have Foxconn step in and carry them to the finish line.

That’s just a Ghibli with a different front end lol

Sad that’s your interpretation, but thanks for the advice.

Fun fact: the woman who designed the new NSX also designed the ZDX.

Tack on the fact it’s become socially acceptable to hustle because whatever you’re doing simply isn’t enough; your life’s purpose is to produce, produce, produce so that others can consume, consume, consume.

Ah yes, I want nothing more than for my car to be assembled by an over-worked, sleep deprived technician.

Small, but built like a tank.

I was hoping VW would eventually revive the Thing as a sort of EV soft-roader you can thrash around and have fun in but still daily drive... instead they’re following the crowd and making another Wrangler.

I’ve been searching for a new job since early 2021. Over 100 applications later and have only heard back from 1 company with a “we may have an opening in 6 months, we’ll reach out then”.

As someone who’s burnt out at work, is it bad I always feel a twinge of jealously when I read about layoffs with cushy severance? I’d love a 3 month sabbatical with support from HR in finding a new job...
