Maybe, but would be weird to highlight a basic radio antenna, especially nowadays. Volvo is adding their lidar on the roof, along with Lotus and some Chinese brands.

Looks like a lidar sensor up top. I’d say BlueCruise 2.0, but that wouldn’t make much sense since 1.0 just came out and (from what I’ve read) is half-baked.

CVT? Doesn’t the Leaf have a 1 speed fixed gear like every other EV?

Adjusting for inflating, the X-Type was a ~55k Ford Mondeo.

Structurally it’s a sound and safe car, it’s basically a roll cage on wheels.

I remember thinking those giant LED turn signals were futuristic and cool AF lol.

If they’re going to show it in this condition, at least lean into it/make a valid excuse. Say it’s the prototype used for off road validation, which would at least excuse the scuffs and beat up body work. This would also lend some credibility that it’s being put through its paces.

It seems flying is becoming less and less safe lately.

It makes great anal lube too!

Brand new? Probably a Jaguar SVR; F Pace or F Type.

Looks like a Ford Escape. Why didn’t they just bring over the European HRV?

Same lol. To be fair though I don’t think all Stockholm’s trains are this nice. The Arlanda Express is the train from the airport to city center, so am sure they made it extra nice to give tourists a good first impression.

Stockholm’s system is lovely, especially the Arlanda express. The seats on that train are like Eames chairs and everything you touch is wool, stainless steel or birch wood; even the window shade pull tabs are leather.

The reason there isn’t more map competition is because it’s difficult. Like, really, really, really difficult. And expensive. Really, really, really expensive. If no one else is willing to do it, and Google is the only viable option, is it still considered a monopoly?

The VW Up has this exact setup. I believe there’s also an app that shows car info and media options. The new Fiat 500 has a similar setup on the base trim. I’m sure there’s more brands; seems to be European thing.

I just read it’s based on a dedicated Lotus platform, but I’m skeptical and waiting to hear from Lotus directly.

Does anyone know if this is based on Volvo’s SPA2 platform, or something else from Geely? Interested because it will give a good indication of what to expect from future Volvos and Geely’s other brands.

If they want anything relatively new and RWD then their only worthwhile option is a Dodge Charger or Cadillac ATS or CTS

The way I interpret it, Geely bought Volvo as a means to ultimately sell Chinese cars globally, and Polestar is their trojan horse.

The fact it’s a Toyota is its strongest selling point. That alone is going to make this one of the most popular options, even though the Kia, Hyundai and Nissan are better on paper.
