The glee that they take in it, that’s the thing.  I’ve known prison guards that I’ve liked.  They viewed their jobs in honest, reasonable terms - they had a tough job with sometimes tough/dangerous people who were also humans.  One guy in particular basically said he often had to do things he didn’t like to keep

No, these are completely different beasts. The Mystery Men were well-meaning but slightly inept superheroes whose hearts were in the right place and managed to the defeat the legitimate villains.

Unlike Marvel or DC’s live-action heroes, who all kill in what passes for “audience-friendly” ways that have desensitized people to the reality of what they’re doing,

“I can’t even put my finger on precisely why. It just always feels like absolute style-over-substance smugness permeates every scene.”

one could argue, successfully I might add, that you just did put your finger on it. =D

I’m getting a very strong Wes Anderson vibe from this first look.

How about 20 million folks give Todd McFarlane a dollar each to NOT make Spawn? (And I don’t need my buck back, thanks very much.)

And I told J.J., like, ‘I don’t understand this. I don’t like it.’ And then he was like, ‘Ignore it! Nobody likes it. I don’t understand it. Just do whatever you want. If you want it to happen the exact way it happens on the series it can.

Superman hails from a dystopian future where the superheroes of old have given way to a younger generation of hyper-violent vigilantes who have no issue with killing their enemies on sight, ethics and “justice” be damned.

So long as the former characters aren’t shoehorned in I’m good. They can get away with pretty much anyone from TNG and Seven of Nine makes sense because of the shared former-Borg connection. But it’ll just cheapen it if Quark shows up out of nowhere or something like that.

Keep in mind that Lal’s (brief) memories were transferred back to Data after her death and his memories were (presumably, possibly) transferred to B-4 before his death, so if that is B-4 in the trailer then all that was Lal is right there.

I’m kinda tired of Harley too, but if they are going to give us more of her, I hope they move on from her relationship with the Joker quick. Yes, she’s in an abusive relationship with him, and yes, that requires nuanced and careful storytelling... but she’s also her own person who’s had many adventures without The

Diedrich Bader is actually really good as Batman, especially in a humorous setting. On Brave and the Bold, he was kind of the straight man to every one else’s zaniness. It worked, and I’m actually pretty stoked to hear him come back and deal out justice.

I don’t like the weird eyes, but the show got some potential!

It’s Diedrich Bader. he’s... fine. I found him a bit distracting in Brave and the Bold though because his voice is so recognizable.

“It’s Me, Dickhead” The New Harley Quinn Trailer Reminds Us This Series Isn’t for Will Totally Be Watched By Kids

Hell yeah.

I get that he feels that way, he was Hawk for a decade and had some great roles in a couple movies. Also I think he is semi retired from film anyways, its been over a decade since he worked.

I mean, I certainly don’t expect him to be Captain Sisko all the time, but holy cow, seeing him in Shatner’s “The Captains” series, man was (is?) he “out there”...

Though I would consider myself to be more of a casual viewer of TNG, and the others maybe less so, I like that they’re having people reprising their roles from TNG and others ST series. The connecting of them feels like it expands that world to me, and I always felt like recurring characters, even if minor, kind of
