@wætherman: But how would they have recharged them? Guess they could have lowered a really long extension chord 6 or 7 power squids.
I want to make some snide remark at Apple's expense, but I can't. Even though I know this is just Apple buying hot publicity at an extremely low price, they didn't have to give these guys jack, and no one could fault them if they didn't.
@ddhboy: Could very well be the case, but VZW has been super reluctant to allow any video chatting over their network. Not sure they would want a facetime enable iPad that wasn't LTE.
The fact that we are seeing this bundle now makes me think a CDMA iPhone will show up on VZW soon. Think about it, drop a iPad/MiFi combo deal which will generate interest in MiFi by attaching it to the hot product of the year. Now people start to associate VZW with iOS.
@pretty pretty pony: I would assume that if the VZW CDMA iPhone rumors are true, we'll see a CDMA iPad shortly after it drops, if not at the same time. The iPad and iPhone would share the same guts after all.
@farker: There is no contract, the MiFi is month-to-month.
@ddhboy: But hasn't VZW already confirmed WP7 support starting in 2011?
@ian.g.case: The article states that there's no contract to sign, it's month-to-month.
@Leon Carpenter: Actually the article states the MiFi is $20 a month (for 1GB) as well. I think the $60 a month MiFi plans are "unlimited".
@ian.g.case: You are correct on every point, but I have to agree with the OP that it is still too expensive.
@tomsomething: Let's re-energize this thread! This is the spark I need to power through this day!
@tomsomething: Maybe this comment will serve to phase out this comment thread.
@Dancing Milkcarton: I'm making the wild assumption that it will not sync Itunes DRM'd music and videos.
@Spartanical: You sir, are a fresh comedic voice on this gadget blog.
@madisondj: I think MS is more looking to the future than supporting the past with this move. Every WP7 will basically be a ZuneHD as well. I don't think they are excepting the new phones to sell like hotcake to Mac users, but they want them to have the option without having to bootcamp to Windows just to sync.
@MIKEAWESOME: Sadly in this economy (oh God, I'm become the kind of person that say ITE) those college students won't have jobs to be able to afford to buy shiny new Apple hardware.
@sydcinema: More popular products, yes. But better is a matter of opinion. Mine differs from your's and the next person may disagree with both of us while rockin' out to their Sansa.
@LemonMeringueTy: Have you used the Zune software? Not the player, the software. iTunes looks like Excel compared to the Zune software.
@canont2ilover: I can't fathom having any smartphone and not having a data plan of some sort. I guess if WiFi was everywhere it would be possible, but it's well worth the extra $24 a month (19% discount through my company) to me to have a data connection everywhere I go that's pretty much guaranteed to work (me likey…
